Midwife Sanne about her hobby, cooking
“Cooking has always been an outlet for me. It's my way to relax after a busy day of working as a midwife. When I noticed that I was inspiring not only friends and family, but also more and more colleagues and pregnant women with my recipes, I decided to expand and share my cooking adventures online. What I like best is the connection you make with people. As a midwife, I am used to being involved in important moments in people's lives. Cooking is somehow similar. People share their experiences, ask questions about recipes and I even get sent photos of dishes they made after watching my videos! That really gives me satisfaction.
I also understood that pregnant women are often looking for healthy, tasty recipes. I regularly receive messages from expectant mothers thanking me for the variety of recipes and the fact that they don't have to worry about their safety. That really means a lot to me.” – Sanne, midwife.
Cooking channel on YouTube: ZauSanne
One of Sanne's favorite recipes is the recipe for stuffed zucchini with minced meat, a recipe from her own mother. Young children, on the other hand, love her cauliflower casserole! Cauliflower isn't exactly at the top of most kids' list of favorite vegetables. This is due to the slightly bitter taste and the somewhat boring appearance, which often makes it a challenge to convince the little ones that this is a 'tasty' vegetable. But, midwife Sanne from Midwives Lelystad knows how to deal with this. Her secret? Homemade cream sauce and cubes of Smac.
