When you are walking or at work, it is more difficult to sense the number of movements your baby is making. Then lie on your left side and try to feel for 2 hours if the baby moves. You can do this by placing your hands on your stomach and pushing gently, the baby will then respond. Less than 10 movements in 2 hours
Have you been on your side for 2 hours and felt less than 10 movements from the baby? Then call the midwife so that the baby's heart rate can be checked. The midwife can make an appointment at the hospital for an extensive heart scan of the baby.
ECG good?
If the ECG is good, it means there is no reason to worry for now. You can then go home again. It is important that you continue to pay attention to your baby's movements, because less movement can be a sign that the baby is in less good condition. If you still feel little to no movement from your baby the next day, call the hospital again. An ECG will then be made again. Never feel bad about calling if you're worried about baby's movements after age 28e week of your pregnancy, this is always taken seriously! Are you 26 weeks pregnant but do you feel the baby moving very little or not at all? This is also a reason to call your midwife.
ECG not good?
If the ECG raises doubts about the health of the baby in the womb, additional checks are required and you may sometimes have to stay in the hospital. It may be necessary to have the baby born earlier.
