Our small-scale team of midwives
If you are pregnant and looking for a midwife in Lelystad, you also want to know who you will be dealing with during your pregnancy. It is important that you feel completely at ease and that you know that you and the baby are being well cared for. This is only possible if you really know the midwives well and that is why we consciously choose to keep our team small. This way you do not have to introduce yourself every time or tell your story 3 times. We know from research that a close relationship with your midwife will ultimately ensure that you have a more pleasant pregnancy and delivery and that the health of the baby improves. We therefore do everything we can to consult regularly so that we are all aware of how you are doing. In addition, you can call us day and night and you do not have to talk to an assistant first, but you will always get us on the phone yourself and we will also connect this back to each other.
At our midwifery practice in Lelystad we do our best to get to know you better and to understand what makes you unique, because every pregnancy and every child is special and requires a personal approach. My name is Sanne, I am 30 years old and owner of Verloskundigen Lelystad. Born and raised in Amersfoort, I decided to move to the beautiful polders a few years ago to seek peace. After first working in a busy, large practice where I sometimes supervised 4 births per night, I consciously chose to set up a small-scale practice. I believe that as a midwife you can only provide the best care if you can really take the time to get to know someone. Being a midwife means being a rock in the surf for you as a pregnant woman, by always being available and knowing what questions you have. Within my practice I also find it important that colleagues know each other well and that is why we regularly do something fun together and combine this with a work meeting. Because we are a very close team, you do not have to tell us your story over and over again, but we know what your wishes are and we all work in the same way. This gives you peace and confidence.
As a midwife, I am there to understand you completely, even when not everything can be expressed in words. People describe me as a warm, honest and committed midwife, with a good dose of down-to-earth humor. During your pregnancy, I am there to listen attentively, to give you the right information and to offer the support and guidance you need during (and after) the birth. Dear pregnant women and partners, my name is Sabrina, 34 years old and a mother myself. I have been allowed to practice the wonderful profession of midwife for 7 years and it still makes me happy every day. I was born in Italy and moved to the Netherlands to work even more in the home environment as a midwife, so that I can assist you with a beautiful home birth or of course in the birth house for example for a water birth. In my free time I like to make vegetarian pasta and I like to read or write. I look forward to getting to know you!

I am Willeke, 33 years old and I was born in a midwifery nest. My mother was a midwife and as a child I heard all the stories through her and her friendly colleagues (I secretly listened).
Later I studied cultural anthropology, because I have always been interested in different cultures. During a research trip to Cameroon I was asked to attend a birth and the midwife left me alone with a woman in labor. Something clicked in me and that is why I made the switch to midwifery.
The vision of Sanne reminds me of my youth. We always celebrated all the holidays together with my mother's fellow midwives. Working closely with colleagues and knowing the clients suits me. I am described as warm, involved, calm and open-minded. I look forward to guiding you and you can contact me with all your questions!

My mother’s home birth – my own birth – and the meaning her midwife had for her inspired me to follow this path. During my studies I discovered the value of being truly present and radiating calm and confidence in a period of great change.
Besides my work as a midwife, I love working with my hands – cooking and crafts bring me peace and inspiration. Whenever possible, I put on my walking shoes or get lost in a good book.
