General Terms and Conditions of Midwives Lelystad
Welcome to Midwives Lelystad, where we assist you in one of the most special periods of your life. At Midwives Lelystad we strive to provide you with the best possible care and support during this special time. To clarify mutual expectations, a number of general terms and conditions have been drawn up. This general conditions have been drawn up to provide clarity about our services and your rights and responsibilities as a client.
Free Early Ultrasound 7-8 weeks
At Midwives Lelystad, as a client you receive a free one early ultrasoundIf you do not have a medical indication and the ultrasound cannot be declared through your health insurer, it will be reimbursed by Midwives Lelystad. If you decide to switch to another practice during your pregnancy or after giving birth before the care received from Midwives Lelystad has been completed, we reserve the right to charge you for the costs of both ultrasounds via an invoice.
Free gender determination Ultrasound 15-16 weeks
At Verloskundigen Lelystad, as a client you will receive a free early ultrasound scan, as well as a gender determination scan at 15-16 weeks if you wish to make use of this. Because this is a fun ultrasound scan, this scan is not reimbursed by the health insurer, but the scan is reimbursed from our midwifery practice. Please note: in order to have the scan reimbursed from our practice, we must schedule it for you and the fun ultrasound scan will be made in Dronten. Therefore, always ask the midwife about this scan first and do not schedule it yourself. If you have planned a fun ultrasound scan yourself without informing us, we cannot reimburse the costs. If you decide to switch to another practice during your pregnancy or after giving birth before the care received from Verloskundigen Lelystad has been completed, we reserve the right to charge you for the costs of both scans via an invoice.
Quality
As midwives at Midwives Lelystad, we are proud of our registration in the quality register for midwives. This means that we continue to improve our quality every year by attending further education, skills training, symposia and ongoing study. This way we remain fully informed of the latest developments in our field and we continuously work on our professional growth in order to continue to provide high-quality care. We also organize monthly practice meetings in which we jointly discuss the care for our clients and take a critical look at our own quality of care. We strive to continuously improve our care and thus guarantee good continuity and quality of care.
We find it extremely valuable if you would like to think with us about possible improvements in our practice and our quality of care. Do you have suggestions, wishes or are you missing certain aspects? We are open to all your feedback and strive for an optimal healthcare experience for our clients.
Reliability of information
Although we are committed to providing reliable and up-to-date information, we cannot make any absolute guarantees about the completeness, accuracy or usefulness of the information we or our suppliers provide. We cannot be held liable for any inaccuracies, delays or interruptions in the provision of information.
Liability
Midwives Lelystad is not responsible for any damage resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the client. Nor are we liable for damage resulting from force majeure, such as malfunctions in our electronic systems or shortcomings of third parties. The information on our website is for general information only and cannot create any rights. Our midwives cannot be held liable for any consequences of information provided on the website. This concerns general information that does not replace the care we provide.
Website
In addition to information about pregnancy, our website also contains information about the practice and our team. Although we strive to keep the website as up to date as possible, no rights can be derived from this. Staff photos and photos of the midwifery practice are only taken annually and may therefore not be up to date.
Pampering packages
In addition to standard obstetric care that is reimbursed by insurance, we also offer optional 'pampering packages'. These pampering packages include extra services beyond standard insured care. Please note: if you choose to purchase a pampering package and you change practices before the care received from Midwives Lelystad has been completed, the purchased package will not be refunded.
Terms of payment
Our payment terms are as follows:
- Term of payment: Invoices must be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.
- Interest: If the payment term is exceeded, interest of 1% will be charged monthly.
- Collection costs: If payment is not made, all judicial and extrajudicial costs will be borne by the client.
- Evidence: Our administrative data are leading, unless the client provides explicit evidence to the contrary.
- Disputes: Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the debtor's place of residence, or to the competent court in Utrecht.
Cancel appointments
Agreements between Midwives Lelystad and the client are made by mutual agreement. If unable to attend, the client must cancel the appointment at least 24 hours in advance. If the appointment is canceled within 24 hours in advance, Verloskundigen Lelystad reserves the right to charge the client for the costs of the appointment. These costs cannot be declared to the health insurer. This is due to the time and effort it takes to schedule a new appointment and the unnecessary holding of a calendar spot where other clients can no longer be scheduled, which can cause inconvenience to the midwifery practice and other clients.
If you do not show up for the appointment without notice or if you cancel within 24 hours, we will be forced to charge €50 for a missed intake interview or €40 for a follow-up appointment. Of course, we will think along with you in exceptional unforeseen circumstances!

Dispute settlement
All disputes arising from an agreement subject to these conditions will be submitted to the competent court of the debtor's place of residence. If the dispute between the parties does not fall within the jurisdiction of the subdistrict court, the midwife is entitled to submit the dispute to the competent court in Utrecht.
